Frequency Tuner is a program that can measure the frequency of a sound and convert it to a note.
The program was developed the for the Windows CE 3.0 Operating System and tested with the Compaq iPAQ 3630 Pocket PC (ARM processor).

Hi, my name is Jan Bouwhuis. I have a wife and 2 boys. My daily work consists of managing network equipment and managing a Windows NT network for Rijkswaterstaat. Rijkswaterstaat is a department of the government of the Netherlands that maintains major roads, rivers and channels. Beside of the work I like to make programs. Most of my programs were written in Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0. Further I do some database programming using Microsoft Access. Some time ago I got an organizer. But why should I use this device only for making appointments, viewing e-mail etc. I began to think about some useful application to be used on my Pocket PC. Further I investigated the possibilities for writing programs for the Pocket PC. The two options I found were Microsoft eMbedded Visual Basic and Microsoft eMbedded Visual C++. Visual Basic for CE did not have the possibilities I was looking for, so I went on using Visual C++. Since one of my hobbies is making Music (guitar, keyboard and recorder) I came to the idea of making a digital tuning device using my iPAQ. Frequency Tuner is my first application.

At a time I like to make photographs. The wind mills at Kinderdijk (The Netherlands) are worth visiting....
